Saul why persecute me

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus is so significant that it is given the glorious status of a Feast within our Church. We could certainly come up with many reasons. He was zealous before becoming a follower of Christ Jesus and he carried that zeal into his conversion giving his all to the proclamation of the Gospel. His ministry as an Apostle of Christ resulted not only in the foundation of numerous Christian communities, it also resulted in fourteen letters attributed to him or his followers becoming part of our Sacred Scripture.

His writings are deep, profound and very personal. His love, zeal and care for the Christian communities he founded shone forth as he was revealed as a true shepherd of God. Secondly, his conversion comes after a fierce persecution of the newly founded Christian Church. All rights reserved. Used by Permission. Used by permission. All Rights Reserved.

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why persecute you me?

Acts Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. Numbers Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment.

And they fell upon their faces. John As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he , they went backward, and fell to the ground. That has always been his desire. But he was trained as a Pharisee, a sect which valued manmade regulations over a careful consideration of the prophecies and how Jesus of Nazareth might fulfill them.

God will use that training to bring an even perspective to the establishment of the Gentiles in the church and He will use Saul's fervor to push on as he suffers for Jesus' name Acts Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.
