Her colleague Johanna Neumann, perched beside Ditzler -- both on laptops -- has been a patron for even longer. The Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group coworkers meet there each Friday morning to make plans for the upcoming week. Ditzler said she likes the new coffee more, but misses the local art. Overall, she said, it's still the same beloved place.
Neumann said she had heard over the holidays the shop would change branding, and that she's still pleased with the choices offered. Michael Reddy, who lives next door to the Amherst cafe and has been a customer there since it opened in , was less enthusiastic. He said he "wasn't too crazy" about the name change.
