The whole point was that skating preaches creativity and being open but shits all over people cause they're not cool. It's very frat like and that aint what the choir is preaching.
The more open you are the more different and interesting people you meet. I imagine if I were to be stuck in my old school ways of closing every non skater out I wouldn't know any of those people. Rasa Libre and High Grade are completely separate entities.
Completely different hippies-mdspb. Everything else aside, hes a good skater. But when you look at everything else, it isn't worth not hating on him just because hes good at skateboarding. It sounds stupid when I say it out loud, but I was a kid and was with my idols. It was a crazy time. His boyish good looks coupled with a friendly demeanor and cheery attitude turned him into a teenage heartthrob—something MTV was more than happy to capitalize on when they offered him his own reality TV show.
Life of Ryan followed the teenage skateboarder as he went about his daily life: parties, skating contests, making out with girls, and arguments with the family. Think Viva la Bam meets Keeping Up with the Kardashians , featuring the hottest skateboarder in the country.
The show was a success, spanning three seasons and pushing Sheckler's already rising star even higher. Suddenly he was much more than just a big name in skateboarding; he was a household star. Ryan's long-time manager Steve Astephen draws similarities to a young Justin Bieber. It was like the Beatles had come to town. It was crazy. Inevitably, the party lifestyle shown on Life of Ryan eventually caught up with him.
Alcohol went from being a fun addition to a house party to a daily necessity. After years of heavy drinking, it came to a tipping point at the age of 25, when drinking began to consume Ryan's life.
I bought a house when I was 18 and I was the only kid in school to have one, so we partied. It just felt normal. When I was 25 it hit hard because I realized that my passion for skateboarding was withering away because all I wanted to do was party and get drunk. It was so empty. I finished an international trip and checked straight in. That is the roots of skating go skate Venice read some old mags or before that zines.
I'm sorry if I hit a nerve if you liked me its because I know what I'm talking about and call it straight. I am also very ingrained in the industry I personally know many pros and skate with them. I don't name drop or ever mention my back ground because I'm not that guy. The last 12 months I have skated from Florida to San Fran I know what people say and people still hate sheckles.
Sorry it's just how it is. I diidn't mean to come off so crass. Theres always going to be haters YouTube comments are extremely dumb and immature, its all just kids acting tough on the internet.
Mostly because he's popular. I went to the element store and there was a board signed by all the guys and my brothers gf was like "I bet Ryan sheckler signed that". He's definitely an amazing skater don't get me wrong, but I personally just don't like his personality all that much. I'm not going to go jump on the bandwagon hating him about it.
He's undoubtedly a great skater. Because he's the justin bieber of skateboarding. He's good, I'll give him that much. The kid has got no style whatsoever. It's not even fun to watch. He's just another robotic competition skateboarder. I don't hate him, but that's not the way I want to get famous Lol. If you could get famous like him, you would, regardless of how the process is completed. Are you saying you'd turn down 20 mill?
